Les 6ème5 à la Fondation Louis Vuitton

Mercredi 24 janvier, la classe de 6e5 s’est rendue à la Fondation Louis Vuitton afin de découvrir les oeuvres américaines de l’exposition Being Modern : MoMa in Paris, oeuvres habituellement exposées au musée du MoMa à New York. Les élèves ont pu découvrir de nombreux artistes tels que Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Wall et bien d’autres.

Last week, we saw paintings by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Neuilly. They were pop art artists.
Andy Warhol was an American artist. He lived in New York. He was born in 1923. He liked Los Angeles, Campbell’s soup, Coca Cola, and he also loved beauty and plastic. He used silkscreening techniques and bright colours. Andy Warhol’s studio was The Factory. He realized many paintings like Campbell’s Soup Cans, Marilyn Diptych and Quadrant Mickey Mouse. Finally, he died in 1987. At the museum, we saw Campbell’s Soup Cans. Andy Warhol painted Campbell’s Soup Cans in 1962. In the painting, we can see 32 Campbell’s Soup cans with different flavours. The cans are red , black, brown, yellow and white. It is like a supermarket. The second pop art artist was Roy Lichtenstein. He was American and he was born in 1928. He painted Drowning Girl and Oh...Alright. He used Ben Day dots in his paintings. He died in 1997.

Last week, we went to the Fondation Louis Vuitton with Miss Denigot, Miss Cognet, Miss Moussouni, Miss De Castro and Mr Delterme. We went to the museum in Neuilly. The name of the exhibition was Being Modern : MoMa in Paris. We saw the paintings of Cézanne and other paintings by Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. There were also many paintings by Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse.
First, we arrived at 9.30 am at the museum. We saw the building. Frank Gehry built it in 2014. There is a pool outside the building. Then, we entered the museum at 9.45 am. We met our guide, her name was Amanda and we visited the museum. We saw different paintings like The Bather by Cézanne (1885), Red Fish and Palette by Henri Matisse (1914), Campbell’s Soup Cans by Andy Warhol (1962) and Drowning Girl by Roy Lichtenstein (1963). Finally, we listened to polyphonic music.
We liked the visit because the paintings were amazing !
